Grab Bag Gifts!

Hi everybody! In school, we did a Grab Bag thing for Christmas. For the Grab Bag, you have to get a gift for a girl. All the girls gifts go in a pile and all the boys gifts go in a pile. Everybody sits in a circle. When it is your turn to get a present, you can either steal another girl's present or pick one from the girl's gifts pile.
I got an awesome Elephant holding a cute towel. I named him Buddy! I also got fuzzy socks, lip gloss, and a cute vanilla sprinkle hand sanitizer. Here are pictures:

Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year!

What Star Do You Like Best?

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989. Her middle name is Alison. Taylor is a country pop singer from America. She earned 4 Grammy Awards with just 1 album, Fearless. According to Wikipedia, Taylor released her album Speak Now, and sold 1,047,000 copies in her first week. She is 22 years old and I don't really know where she lives, but I am pretty sure it is Nashville, Tennessee. Taylor is very successful and she is a great role model for girls.

Miranda Cosgrove
Miranda Taylor Cosgrove was born on May 14, 1993. She is a well-known actress and singer. When she was 3, she was in many TV commercials. When she was older, she played "Megan" in the Nickelodeon TV show Drake and Josh and later, starred in iCarly. Miranda earned 180,000 from every iCarly episode in 2010. She also was in a movie I love very much, School of Rock. Miranda sings pop rock and teen pop. She is currently 18. Miranda is also a great role model for girls.

Selena Gomez
Selena Marie Gomez was born on July 22, 1992. She is an actress and singer. Selena is well-known for her role "Alex" in the TV show Wizards of Waverly Place. Later, she started to be in films such as Another Cinderella Story, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, Princess Protection Program, Ramona and Beezus, and the latest one, Monte Carlo. Selena started her life as a singer and has many songs such as, A Year Without Rain, and Kiss & Tell. She has sang songs in Tinker Bell, Another Cinderella Story, Wizards of Waverly Place, and yet another TV show, Shake It Up. Selena is currently 19. She is also an amazing role model for girls, like Taylor & Miranda.

So, the big question is: Who do you like best?
Comment to tell me! Mine is personally Selena Gomez. It used to be Taylor Swift, but now I don't really listen that much to her songs. I love her too!

About The Nutcracker

Hi everybody! As I have mentioned in an earlier post, I am in the Nutcracker. The Nutcracker was originally a classical for-ballet song by Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky, (May 7, 1840- November 6, 1893) was a Russian composer of the Romantic era. Nowadays, people change the dance into jazz, hip hop, and many other styles. This Nutcracker that I am in is for ballet. I am a wooden Soldier. I love being a Soldier, because although it is challenging to know the counts, you have to act serious, and sometimes you get to be funny, even though it is connected with ballet. Obviously, we do a lot of marching, like soldiers are supposed to be portrayed. I love being in the Nutcracker. Pretty much in every state, there is a Nutcracker production, so if you like to dance, you could be in it! Thanks, and just a reminder, I won't be on much because of the Nutcracker. I will probably wish you a Merry Christmas when it is almost Christmas, but since I am in the Christmas mood, Merry Christmas!

Thank you to... Wikipedia for the info about Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky. To learn more about Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and read the rest of the Wikipedia article, follow this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyotr_Ilyich_Tchaikovsky

Thank you to... You guys, for reading this.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Hi everybody and Happy Thanksgiving!

After Thanksgiving there is not going to be a lot of posts, because I am in a Christmas ballet show and I will have 10 shows, but I think the shows are on one day and then the next day the other cast performs and then the next day I perform, so hopefully I will be able to post. If you want to learn more about the show, go to http://www.joffrey.org/nut.

What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Comment and tell me! I am going to my aunt's house. I love Thanksgiving!

Here is a little thing I made by myself:

House on the Gulf Essay

Hi everybody! This is a random essay I made for a book called House on the Gulf. In one of my early posts, I made a Dumb Diary book essay. All the essays I have posted are not used for school, I just made them randomly. :)
House on the Gulf
Main Character: Britt (Brittany)
Characters Important to the Story: Mrs. Stuldy, Mrs. Marcus, Bran, and Brittany and Bran's mom.
Rating By Stars:
Review: This book is a great book, otherwise some things I noticed throughout reading it.
I didn't like how the character Bran developed in the story. It did make the story exciting, but I still didn't like it. He was an honest brother and then he turned into a liar. Some things I liked were the plot of the story (besides Bran's development). The plot was twisted around and left you surprised in the middle of the book. Otherwise, I loved the book! I'm sure everybody who reads it will be surprised. On that note, I hope you can read the book. I am sure you will love it!

How To Make Crepes

Hi everybody! This is how to make crepes from my Grandma's recipe. We are Croatian, and in Croatia, crepes are popular. We don't call them crepes, we call them palacinke. I think that's how it's spelled.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

spatula
pan
big spoon thing
bowl
canola oil

1. Put 1 or 2 eggs in a bowl, add a little sugar, some salt, stir. Add milk and flour and stir some more until liquidy.

2. Next set a pan on the oven. Set oven to medium temp.

3. On the pan, put some oil and tip the pan a little so the oil will spread.

4. Take the big spoon thing and take scoop some of your mix. Put it inside the pan. Tip to spread mix.

5. Wait a bit. Take spatula and check underside to see if done. It will be a little brown and crispy. If brown and crispy, flip over the crepe so the other side will be cooked, too. When it is done, take the spatula and put the crepe on the plate.

I hope you enjoy the crepe. If you did not get something, comment, and I will either make a video, or show you a picture of how the thing looks. I knew the basic ingredients, but not how much, so I found a website that tells me exactly how much you need. Thanks you for the ingredients: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/basic-crepes/detail.aspx

Enjoy your crepes,
sincerely,

En Pointe With Emma

Does anybody actually know what the whole, "En Pointe With Emma" thing comes from?
Well, I love to dance ballet. Well, in ballet, when you get older you get to go on pointe. Pointe means you get to wear pointe shoes, a picture of them is on the bottom of this post. In France, since ballet comes from France, they spell "on pointe" like this: en pointe. So, my whole blog name basically means that you are going en pointe with me while I share all my life stories and interests. By the way, I still haven't gotten on pointe yet. Thanks for reading! Comment:)

Change of Costume... Again

Hi everybody!

Change of costume again for Halloween! This time, is my final choice. I am going to be a vampire teenager from the 70's. I have leggings, a black skirt, an afro, crazy eyelashes, fangs, white face paint, a spider webby hood thing that is supposed to be attached to one of my previous costumes: Spiderella. I am going to put a cute bow in my hair. Plus I have a sparkly shirt!
What are you being? Comment!
Happy Halloween again!

Halloween Switch-Up

Hi everybody! Yesterday, I went to an awesome costume store (an actual one that is open all year). It's called Chicago Costume Company. It is amazing and really cool. I decided to be a disco person. I got an afro with fake pink dotted eyelashes. My mom is going to find an outfit, because at the store, their disco costumes were only in the woman's section. So, my mime idea is for next year, I guess.

Have an awesome Halloween, and get a lot of candy!

Happy Halloween!
Remember to check out Chicago Costume Company!

Sincerely,

Halloween Stuff

Hey guys!

Here are some cool Halloween ideas:
COSTUMES: Homemade costumes are cool and easy. Find out what you are going to be, and grab some clothes that whoever or whatever you are going to be would wear. You could buy some accessories to add a little to the costume.
Last year I was a hippie. I went to the nearest costume store and bought big peace sign earrings, old-fashioned glasses, and fake flowers. I used some clothes that I found from when my cousins were little. They were perfect! I used a jean vest and I found some bell-bottom pants. I found an awesome pink shirt, too. I attached the earrings, put on the glasses, and stuck the blue flowers in my hair. It looked awesome. This year I'm going to be a mime. (Those people who don't talk on purpose and just use actions) I'm going to wear a striped shirt and black leggings. I have a French beret that I'm going to wear. I am going to paint my face white and put red lipstick on. Easy, huh?

DECORATIONS: For decorations, we buy pumpkins and straw each year fro the front of my house. We use different lights and decorations each year that we didn't use last year. I think it looks awesome every time. We have skeleton heads and pumpkin lights. We have monsters and pirate skeletons. You could also make homemade decorations. Paper ghosts and witches, lighted candles, or anything you can think of! Here is a link to find out what and how: http://iblue.hubpages.com/hub/Top-10-Halloween-Homemade-Decorations

Traditions: For cool and spooky traditions, you can boo somebody. To boo somebody, get a bag (one that you would put a gift in). Make up a poem, or look up poems for booing people. Print or write the poem out and stick it into the bag. at the end of the poem, if not already there, write, "Now it is your turn to boo somebody" or anything like that. Put candy in the bag and secretly put it on someone's doorstep and ring the doorbell. Run, so they can't see who gave it to them. Here are some poems I found on the web for booing people: http://leladavidson.hubpages.com/hub/Halloween-Boo-Poems-and-Signs

Have a fun Halloween!

Sincerely,
Emma
